Kalama Community Fair
Something Different Every Year
This three-day event in July is family-oriented and full of fun, with a true hometown feel. The fair has its roots in the Kalama Strawberry Festival, which began in 1939 as a celebration of the area’s strawberry harvest.
The theme changes every year, but you can always count on seeing the fair court and the coronation of the queen. In a salute to history, the robe, crown and page outfits worn during the Strawberry Festival Community Fair in 1965 are used each year.
For a small-town event, the Kalama Fair offers a ton of activities, including a parade, battle of the bands, tractor pull, antique tractor show, redneck rodeo, horse show, 10K fun run and, of course, the wonderful firemen's breakfast. 4-H exhibits also play a prominent role.
